My Leadership Lessons at Trinity

Contributing Author: Trinity Alumni, Mr. Levi J. Huot Looking back at my time at Trinity Christian School, I’ve realized how much the teachers and faculty prepared me to be a leader and succeed not only in college, but also in life. The faith-based curriculum taught at Trinity built a strong foundation for my relationship with Christ which has allowed me to stand tall in my positions as a leader in college and my community.

The diverse and challenging curriculum at Trinity demanded organization and commitment in order to succeed. The yearlong senior thesis required significant planning, hours of research and hard work culminating in what would be considered a college-level project. As a result of the incredible education and training, I have been able to maintain a 4.0 grade-point average in college and have recently been nominated for, and received, the Distinguished Senior Student Award for the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at Northern Arizona University. Colossians 3:23 says; Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men. This Bible verse has been the driving force for me to be a student and individual who honors God first in all that I do.

While at Trinity I was heavily involved in basketball starting in the fifth grade through my senior year. The leadership of the Athletic Director and coaches, through example, taught me leadership on-and-off the court. I was privileged to be a co-captain my senior year which was an honor and a great learning experience.

Since graduating from Trinity in 2016, I would say that my confidence level has grown exponentially because of how well Trinity prepared me for life after high school. Trinity’s guidance and instruction on how to think for myself was and is paramount. The foundations that were built at Trinity have allowed me to stay on the right path and not give in to the stereotypical activities of college life. Trinity taught me to be confident in who I am in Christ. Psalms 27:3 says, “Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.” Despite all of the negativity and division in our world and challenges in my life, through a strong Biblical foundation in Christ that started at Trinity, I have been able to be a confident servant and leader knowing that God’s got my back in all that I do.

I thank Trinity for preparing me to be a leader, and more importantly a servant of God. I personally believe that I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for Trinity’s faith-based curriculum and amazing teachers to guide me along the way. I can confidently say that any child who attends Trinity will not only have an opportunity to build a strong relationship with God, but they will have the necessary tools to be a success in whatever God has for them.

Levi Huot graduated with the Trinity Class of 2016. Levi will be graduating from NAU in December 2020 with his Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. He will be pursuing his Masters degree in Clinical Speech/Language Pathology.
